Warm Snow Crab Dip
How to Make Warm Snow Crab Dip | Easy Snow Crab Dip Recipe
Warm crab dip is one of those recipes that works for almost any gathering. It's easy to prepare, can be made ahead of time, and gives sweet snow crab meat a place at the center of the table.
At Maine Shelled Lobster, we like recipes that keep things simple. Our Snow Crab Leg Meat arrives cooked and ready to thaw, so there's no need to spend time preparing a whole crab before making this dip.
Start With Quality Crab
Our Snow Crab Leg Meat is wild caught and sustainably harvested from the Gulf of Saint Lawrence. It's 100 percent snow crab leg meat, cooked and ready to serve warm or cold.
For this recipe, thaw the amount you need, drain away any excess water, and gently pat the crab dry. Leave some of the pieces larger so you get plenty of crab in every bite.
Simple Warm Snow Crab Dip
Ingredients
- 1 pound snow crab leg meat, thawed and patted dry
- 8 ounces cream cheese, softened
- 1/3 cup mayonnaise
- 1 tablespoon Dijon mustard
- 1 tablespoon fresh lemon juice
- 1 teaspoon Old Bay seasoning
- 1 tablespoon fresh parsley, chopped
- 1/2 cup shredded cheddar cheese
- Kosher salt and pepper, to taste
- Crackers, toasted bread, or sliced vegetables, for serving
How to Make It
Preheat the oven to 375 degrees Fahrenheit.
In a medium bowl, stir together the softened cream cheese, mayonnaise, Dijon mustard, lemon juice, Old Bay, and parsley. Mix until smooth.
Fold in the snow crab meat and half of the shredded cheddar. Stir gently so the crab stays in pieces.
Transfer the mixture to a small baking dish and spread it evenly. Sprinkle the remaining cheddar over the top.
Bake for 15 to 20 minutes, until the dip is hot and bubbling around the edges. If you want a little more color on top, place it under the broiler for the final minute or two.
Let it rest for a few minutes before serving.
Serving Snow Crab Dip
Serve warm with crackers, toasted bread, celery, or sliced vegetables. It's an easy appetizer for a holiday gathering, game day, or a seafood dinner with friends.
For a larger Maine-inspired spread, put the dip alongside chilled lobster meat, shrimp cocktail, or other seafood favorites.
Why Simple Works
There's no need to add a long list of ingredients to good crab meat. A little creaminess, lemon, and seasoning are enough to turn sweet snow crab into a warm appetizer that's easy to share.
